Miss Marche‛ LaFaye Howell

Marche‛ LaFaye Howell is the daughter of Mark and Fadray Howell. She is a well-rounded and involved graduating senior at Duncanville High School. Marche‛ is a member of over eight clubs and activities not only at her school but in her community. She is a Texas Top Scholar and an influential member of the National Honor Society.

Marche‛ has been very active all throughout her high school career. She has been involved in sports since the age of 5 and been on the Varsity Basketball team since her sophomore year, now being a senior captain. Marche‛ has been an active member of Student Council for all four years and was chosen to be Advertisement Committee Chair this year. Marche‛ is also the President her school‛s Psychology Club, Vice President of the Media Technology Club, and a member of Duncanville‛s career and tech leader‛s organization SkillsUSA.

Along with her love of basketball, Marche‛ is also a member of Duncanville‛s talented Drama Club. She has been featured with starring roles in numerous plays during the school year and plans to continue her theatrical career at the University of Texas at Austin majoring in acting. Marche‛ then plans to continue studying at The California Institute of the Arts or Julliard.

Marche‛ is also an active youth member at her church, Antioch Fellowship Missionary Baptist, where she tutors other youth, sings in the Youth Impact Choir and Praise Team, and is apart of the Chosen Generation and Young Women‛s Virtue Ministry. She has also been involved in her community, being a member of Kappa Zeta‛s Archonettes and a previous member of Zeta Phi Beta‛s youth group the Amicettes. Marche‛ enjoys helping other people in any way she can and has showed her dedication through her accumulation of over 150 community service hours.

Along with her 4.0 GPA, Marche‛ will be graduating in the top 1% in her class of about 700 students at Duncanville High. She plans to study and pursue a career in acting, music, and film production in her hopes to become that famous actress someday. Marche‛ also plans to pursue film and songwriting, along with freelance photography.

Miss Jalisa Jasmin Jones

Jalisa Jasmin Jones is the daughter of Curtis Jones Jr., and Kandes Jones. She is a graduating senior from Community High School of Nevada, TX. Jasmin is a very active, dedicated member of Kappa Zeta Archonettes. She is currently serving her term as president.

At Community High School, in addition to her studies, Jasmin provides assistance to her teachers as an aide, and is the 2nd Lieutenant on The Dazzlin' Dames Drill Team. Jasmin has spent all of high school achieving the accolades of a well-rounded student. She has played both softball and track for one year. She participated in FCCLA for 2 years (both years becoming a state qualifier). She also achieved Regional Qualification for Academic UIL in Journalism for three years as well as, participated in Yearbook for two years, and danced all four years ; while maintaining a 3.6 GPA at the top of her class.

Community service is a significant part of Jasmin's life. Jasmin has volunteered with the Salvation Army Christmas Drive, Carter Blood Drive, CHS Fall Carnival, G.A.S.P Program, St. Philips Christmas Store and the AWANA program at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Her future plans consist of attending college at either Prairie View A&M University or Southern University. It is where she plans to pursue a major in Broadcast Communication. Her dream job is to be a video jockey for BET, or MTV.

Miss Jazmine Marthel Jones

Jazmine Marthel Jones is the daughter of Tommy Lee Jones and Jennifer M. Jones. This free spirited drama queen is a graduating senior from DeSoto High School.

Currently, Jazmine serves as the secretary of Kappa Zeta Archonettes. Jazmine has been participating with Zeta Phi Beta youth auxiliary groups for thirteen years. She fed her first homeless person at the age of 5.

Jazmine is very active with her high school‛s theatre department; where she has been the recipient of several awards. She is currently the president of International Thespian Society. Jazmine has directed two plays, leading her to win the “Best Student Director Award in 2008”. She has preformed in numerous plays, including, “Dearly Departed”, “Jb”, “Rumors”, “Last night of Ballyoo”, and was recently cast in the leading role as Ester, in the play “Intimate Apparel”, which she will be performing at the UIL One Act competition in April. Jazmine performed in the Black History Month Program at DeSoto High School and after reciting the line, “You told Harpo to beat me”, it sent the crowd roaring.

Jazmine was one of the first ninth graders selected to serve on DeSoto Youth Advisory Council. She has been responsible for putting on such city wide events as the “Hip Hop Summit”, “The Dad Daughter Dance”, and the DeSoto Christmas Parade, just to name a few.

Jazmine is a member of Fellowship Bible Church South where she served as the President of her church youth group called G.R.O.U.P. (God Revealing Our Ultimate Purpose) as well as a youth church instructor. She sings in her church choir, and is a member of the church interpretive dance team.

Jazmine will be attending Southern Methodist University here in Dallas, Texas. She will be majoring in Education.

Miss Aleshia Lagayle McMorris

Aleshia Lagayle McMorris is the daughter of Elizabeth McMorris and the sister of Delaina Odom. She is an influential senior at South Oak Cliff High School. She has been recognized as an honors student and is a part of her school yearbook staff and also executive board member of her senior class.

Aleshia has accomplished so many things throughout her life and achieved many difficult goals. She plans to obtain a higher education by attending Texas Woman‛s University. Her interest of studying elementary education teaching fourth grade has become her passion.

One of her goals is making her mother Elizabeth a proud parent. That all her hard work as a mother has paid off and that all the morals that she has taught and installed in her are being put to good use.

Aleshia has been in various community service activities. They include area youth programs where they help feed the homeless.

She attends Macedonia Baptist church and is a member of the youth choir. Aleshia is also employed at Minyard Food Stores in Lancaster, Texas as a cashier.

Miss Bianca Diona Scott

Bianca Diona Scott is the daughter of Maribel Rodriguez and sister to Peter Abraham Jr. and Francisco Rodriguez. She is a graduating senior from North Garland High School for Math and Science.

Through her whole high school career she has been active in doing community service. She has fed the homeless, painted gates, washed windows, canned food drives, Salvation Army Christmas drive, and washed cars. She knows how important it is to give back to the community, and has been serving with a smile on her face and a open heart. In addition to her studies, Bianca provides assistance to her teachers as an aide. Bianca is involved in several organizations including Light Brigade, Health Occupations Students of America, Hispanic Youth Organization. She has been exhibits her leadership skills everyday, she was elected President of her club Business Professionals of America, she has also attended and completed with honor the youth conference Lead of America, which was held in Washington D.C. She was the only one from her school to attend.

Bianca has been taking advantage of the opportunities held at her school, she has attended and completed the Certified Nurse Assistant training and has obtained her license. She is now studying Phlebotomy that is held at North.

Bianca is a proud member of The Potter's House which the pastor is T.D Jakes. She has been a member since 2001. She has also been attending the church A.M.E church where she is singing in their choir.

Bianca's future plans includes attending University of Houston. It is here where she plans to pursue a major in Biology. With the Biology major she wants to become an Obstetrician/Gynecologist, she loves babies.
