This scholarship award is named in honor of Tanya C. Henderson.

The winner will be selected on the documentation and recommendations submitted.  The winner will be honored in Spring 2023.

  1. Must be a high school senior.
  2. Must plan to pursue post high school studies at a HBCU (4 year college).
  3. Must major in Accounting, Finance or related field
  4. Must be a resident of Dallas County.
  5. Must have a minimum unweighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

  2. Then scan the following documents:
    1. Digital photo (headshot)  in JPEG or PNG format
    2. Official high school transcript with rank and unweighted GPA (4.0 scale)
    3. In 500 words or less explain how you plan to use your accounting or finance degree to enhance the African American community.
    4. Two letters of recommendation:   (1) from your school counselor or teacher and (2) from an employer, auxiliary/advisory/club sponsor (not a part of your high school).  Recommendations should be addressed to the Scholarship Committee of Kappa Zeta with a signature and contact information.
    5. Student resume
    6. Documentation of volunteer hours, awards, etc. with dates of activities and total hours calculated
  3. Attach and send documents to Scholarship Committee:
    1. Gmail Account Holder: Please create a folder with your supporting documentation. Be sure to update the share settings on your folder to include that "anyone with the link" may view. Your folder should be titled:  Tanya C. Henderson Scholarship_[First and Last name].  Send the folder link to kappazpbscholarship1920@gmail.com by 11:59 PM on Friday, March 31, 2023. Please title your email subject Tanya C. Henderson Scholarship_[First and Last name].
    2. Non- Gmail Account Holder: Email your PDF file which includes your transcript, letters of recommendation, community service hours, and statement. Your digital photo will need to be attached separately as a JPEG or PNG. Send all documents to kappazpbscholarship1920@gmail.com  by 11:59 PM on Friday, March 31, 2023. The subject of your email should be "Tanya C. Henderson Scholarship_[First and Last name]."
